Before Intravenous Anesthesia Sedation
1. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
2. Do not eat or drink anything 8 hours prior to your appointment if you are to be sedated.
3. Please bring your surgical consent form signed and initialed as instructed. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign and initial the form.
4. If medications were given prior to the procedure please take them as prescribed. Also take all of your routine medications as prescribed unless instructed otherwise.
5. An adult must escort you and remain in our office during your procedure, as well as drive you home if you are to be sedated. No exceptions. We also recommend that someone be able to stay with you for the first 12-24 hours after your surgery.
6. All minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
7. Under no circumstances will family members be allowed in the surgical suite during treatment.
8. Do not wear contact lenses.
9. Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, nail polish, or large hair clips or bows.
10. Please wear loose fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up past the elbow.
11. The patient should not plan drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
